Fresh Cut Lisianthus

Lisianthus comes in a wide range of colors.  They are slightly ethylene sensitive.  Lisianthus flowers greatly benefit from pretreatment of 12% sugar in the vase solution with your fresh flower food for 24 hours.  More buds will open and the flowers will be more brightly colored.  Store at 33-35F in solution of fresh flower food with 3-4% sugar.  Vase life 10-14 days.  Each stem has 8-10 buds and several of the larger buds should open in the vase.
