Cut Cornflower
Cornflower also known as
bachelor's button or knapweed is ethylene sensitive. Some varieties
come in purple or pink, but blue is the most common.
Available in
limited supply year round.To process, remove foliage that may
fall below waterline, cut and put into "Quick Dip" by Florallife.
Remove and cut the flowers' stems underwater and place in a clean
container of water and flower food. Store at 34-38F
Cornflowers are used often in wedding
work. Boutonnieres, corsages and in bridesmaids' headpieces.
Drying: Group small bunches by
binding a few stems together with a twist tie or a string. Suspend
upside down in a warm, dry, well-ventilated area. Dried cornflowers
are beautiful on wreaths and wall pieces. Also work well decorating
basket edges.
